Police in the Central Region have embarked on a massive operation at Ntin, a popular crime zone in Cape coast south of the central region and busted 8 suspected criminals. The area is a crime zone which for some time now before the arrival of the new Commander has been declared no go area for the police personnel in Central region.

Addressing Journalists at the regional police headquarters at cape coast, the Central Regional Police Commander DCOP Rev. Ampah Benin disclosed, Five of the suspected criminal were arrested with other three suspects escaping through the sea.

The arrested suspects includes Ekow Bentil -18 years, Agbovie Mensah -22, Emmanuel Amoah- 21, Ekow Ewisie- 21and Mustapha Mohammed -53 etc.

DCOP Ampah Benin continued that further search on the suspects revealed 123 pieces of wrapped plant material and quantity of seeds suspected to be narcotic drugs,10 knives, 24 scissors a hummer, crow bar, chisel, tape recorders , television, a quantity of material used to administer narcotic drugs, 6 lighters, 27 CDs and taxi cab No GT 5383-12 suspected to be used in goats stealing syndicate.

The Police also burnt down all wooden structures erected by suspects in the affected areas.
Meanwhile all the suspects are detained for further investigations and are being arranged before court.

DCOP Ampah Benin finally promised the Police will conduct more of such operations to clamp down on criminals in the Central region.
