FLOOD DISPLACES OVER 855 RESIDENTS AT SAMRABOE

Residents of Samraboe and its environs in the Western Region have been hit by flood, sweeping away properties worth millions of Ghana cedis and displaces over eight hundred and fifty five (855) people.

speaking on ATV's Anopa Bosuo show today, a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), George William Nash said every year the country records countless of flood as a result of human activities, such as illegal mining , buildings on water ways and enlighten on the chiefs and town planners as they been the cause of the flood.

When ever the heavens open up the lousy drainage systerm in the country,human activities made many areas flooded due to choke gutters, unauthorized buildings on water ways and illegal mining in the local parlance (galamsey) .

The menace has befell residents of Samraboe in the Western Region ,many valuables and properties has gone down the drains, displacing over 855 residents, taken over 62 buildings and rendered many homeless, the situation has force some of the victims to sleep in churches and schools in the area.

School children are unable to attend classes because most of the flood victims are occupying the classrooms. Speaking on Anopa Bosuo show , a member of the NDC George Nash said "the perennial flood occur as a res ult of human activities" .

The Progressive Peoples Party communication Team member, Felix Mantey said laws and rules governing buildings in the country should be enforced and proper plans have to put in plcace to curb the canker.
